What this test measures

Developed by psychologists Michael Ashton and Kibeom Lee, the HEXACO model extends the Big Five by adding a sixth dimension: Honesty-Humility. Research suggests this dimension captures something the Big Five misses — your orientation toward integrity, modesty, and fairness in dealing with others. What the HEXACO Personality Test measures

• Honesty-Humility

  Moderate Honesty-Humility — you have a generally fair and sincere approach to others, though you can adapt strategically when the situation seems to call for it. You value honesty but are pragmatic enough to navigate social complexity without feeling compromised.

• Emotionality

  Moderate Emotionality — you experience a normal range of emotional responses without being overwhelmed by them. You feel things genuinely but are not dominated by anxiety or strong emotional reactions in most circumstances.

• Extraversion

  Moderate Extraversion — you move comfortably between social engagement and independent focus. You enjoy company without needing it constantly, and can be outgoing or reflective depending on what the situation calls for.

• Agreeableness

  Moderate Agreeableness (HEXACO) — you are reasonably patient and fair-minded. You can be tolerant and forgiving without being a pushover, and you are capable of expressing frustration when it is warranted without becoming hostile or resentful.

• Conscientiousness

  Moderate Conscientiousness — you are reasonably organised and goal-directed without being rigid or perfectionist. You plan when it matters and are reliable without being inflexible. You balance thoroughness with pragmatism.

• Openness

  Moderate Openness — you balance curiosity with practicality. You are interested in new ideas without being lost in abstraction, appreciate creativity while valuing what works, and are open to new experiences without needing constant novelty.
